The first DECAF! - our Chevere from Colombia.
Decaffeination begins with the unroasted green coffee beans.
In a special decaffeination process, the sugar cane process , the unroasted coffee is first steamed with water to open its pores.
This is followed by a bath in ethyl acetate until all the caffeine has been dissolved out. The ethyl acetate is a solvent made from a naturally occurring and harmless substance that is extracted from sugar cane native to Colombia.
