Cafe Organico Marcala SA

COMSA (Café Orgánico Marcala SA) is a Honduran company founded by small farmers to grow and market organic and fair trade coffee. Founded after the collapse of a large cooperative, COMSA is now a network of over 2,000 producers that focuses on sustainable agriculture, fair prices and community development. The organization supports its members by providing training in organic farming methods and business self-employment.

Thanks to the Fairtrade premium, farmers can improve their infrastructure and diversify their income by growing other products. COMSA also invests in education by offering scholarships and English courses for children of members and the surrounding community. Through its holistic approach - environmental awareness, fair pay and community support - COMSA has earned a global reputation as a model for sustainable coffee cultivation.
